Ingredients:

  • For the base:

    • 5 pears
    • 3 tablespoons oil
    • 1 packet baking powder
    • 100g granulated sugar
    • Pinch of salt
    • 150g plain flour
    • 3 eggs
    • 100ml milk
    • 1 packet cinnamon sugar
  • Topping:

    • 1 egg
    • 200g quark cheese
    • 2 packets vanilla sugar
    • 50g butter

Instructions:

  1. Prep work: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a cake tin. Peel and slice the pears.
  2. Make the batter: Beat the eggs and sugar until fluffy. Gradually fold in the flour, baking powder, milk, and oil.
  3. Assemble the cake: Pour the batter into the prepared tin and arrange the pear slices on top. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  4. Bake: Bake for 30 minutes.
  5. Optional topping: While the cake cools, mix the quark, butter, egg, and vanilla sugar. Spread this mixture over the cooled cake and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  6. Crumble topping: For an extra crunch, mix together sugar, flour, and butter to create a crumble topping. Sprinkle it over the cake and bake for 5-8 minutes more.
